2 +2 | Lingua voluptas est |

language is fun Lingua voluptas est Explanation: "Lingua est iucundus" is definitely wrong - from a grammatical point of view. It would have to be: "lingua est iucunda" or 'lingua iucunda est' which means roughly: Language is pleasant. If you really want a good translation (what for?) you should provide more background information. Latin is a very complex and precise language and, for example, the word 'language' has to be translated in different ways depending on its exact meaning. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 9 hrs (2006-10-22 19:25:32 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Wouldn't it be better to use a slogan most of the readers understand? (A slogan which you yourself understand?) "iucunda" (feminine) is an adjective and rougly means pleasant, charming, kind "voluptas" is a noun and means pleasure, enjoyment, joy |
