English term or phrase: In loving memory
I am wondering if there is a translation for "in loving memory." The situation would be for use in a tattoo as a memorial for several friends who were killed. Any help would be great.

In memoriam
Explanation:
there is no Latin translation to "in loving memory of", usually it is simply used "in memoriam". However, if you do want to emphasize your feelings, it would still be correct to write "in caram/amatam memoriam", even though it is not proper Latin.

agree  LUIS ANTONIO DE LARRAURI: I agree with your solution and with the non propriety of "in caram memoriam". It would sound strange.

in piam memoriam

Explanation:
This is an often used phrase, although "piam" (from the adjective pius, pia, pium" literally means "pious".
