Well...

Explanation:
Dear Vanessa,

if I understood you well, you need to know how to put verbs in the past tens. You need to look up in the dictionary. Imagine you are looking for "to carry" (fero)

Fero, fers, ferre, tuli, latum

The one you need is the one after the infinitive (ferre), which is tuli.

Amo, amas, amare, amavi, amatum

Here the one you need (amavi) is the one after the infinitive (amare) as well.

Some dictionaries do not show the second one (amas, fers), which is second singular present. In that case watch out which is the infinitive and take the next one.

That word is the past tense, but not for all persons. It's the first singular, for istance:

amavi: I loved
tuli: I carried

You need to add suffixes to make other persons:

- (nothing for the first person)
-isti (2º singular)
-t (3º singular)

-mus (1º plur)
-istis (2º plur)
-erunt (3º plur)

Amavisti: you loved
amaverunt: they loved

And so on :)

Hope it helped!

Met/Saw: as in "he met": convenit

He saw her: (Is) convenit eam

Hope it helpssssssss!
