|English term or phrase: five quarters|
Can I use;
one quarter = satu suku
five quarters = lima suku-suku
Sales deteriorated faster in "one quarter" than in the "five quarters" of the previous downturn.
I'd appreciate any type of suggestions. Thanks.
|one quarter = satu suku; five quarters = lima suku [NOT lima suku-suku]|
Jualan merosot lebih cepat dalam "satu suku" daripada dalam "lima suku" di perubahan turun sebelumnya/ terdahulu/
[NOTE: in malay it is not necessary to reduplicate nouns to indicate the plural case. when using reduplication, it is important to remember the type of information you wish to convey. it is not a question of distinguishing between singular or plural but of distinguishing between whether something is seen as a unit or as many individual parts. a good malay grammar book can explain this distinction.]
