English term or phrase: EU doc name

In a list of MSDS terms in an Excel sheet, a chemical name is followed by this string in parentheses. The whole string is as follows: "Mesitylene (EU doc name)". Any idea what this is about?

Explanation:
I believe this refers to the European Union Commission's Department of Chemicals, meaning this is the officially recognized name of the chemical in the EU. Most or all chemicals have different names depending on context, target audience (is it a commercial on TV, or is it a chemistry textbook), and region. My understanding is that different regions of the world have different authorities on the official name of a chemical. However, I am in doubt here because it seems European Chemicals Agency (ECHA); is the current name of the offiicial authority recognized by the EU Commision. Perhaps DOC was an old name? I am not an expert or authority in this area.

At dette har med Department of Chemicals å gjøre kan være en god gjetning, og jeg gir deg 2 poeng, iallfall. Saken her er at originalen opererer med to versjoner av det kjemiske navnet, det ene med (Annex 1 name) etter og det andre med (EU doc name) etter. I samråd med SFT har jeg valgt å slette begge variantene fra originalen og skrive inn det godkjente norske navnet fra Stofflista til SFT.
