This is a snippet of dialogue from a novel I'm working on. The two characters are non-native speakers of Norwegian who use the language to have a short conversation without the person they're talking about understanding.

“How are you doing? Still scared?”
“I’m trying to take your advice and just love her now.”
“Let tomorrow take care of itself.”

A little later . . .

“Go put her to bed.”
“Thanks again for everything. Good night.”
