Tech/Engineering - Petroleum Eng/Sci | | English term or phrase: percussion drilling/cable tool drilling | | The term is used in a text were the rest is not about oil rigs, it is just mentioned. It has the following definition in the accompanying glossary: "also called percussion drilling, a method of oil drilling using a drill bit that is repeatedly lifted and dropped by a hoisting cable. The force of the impact crushes the material at the bottom of the well." I need to find the correct Norwegian terms for cable tool drilling and/or percussion drilling. |

Ifølge Ordia teknisk ordbok er percussion boring = slagboring, og "drilling" brukes gjerne synonymt med "boring", ergo slagboring. Også EU-ordboka IATE oppgir "slagboremaskine" (dansk) for percussion drilling machine. |
