Re the plural form, the requested term was singular. If the phrase to be translated is actually plural, just adapt to "hovedbakkene". I am certainly familiar with "front slopes"as a colloquial reference to the main slope(s) of ski resorts I ski at in Australia. It is the nearest slope(s) to the resort (s), and can sometimes also be referred to as “front valley”. This is to distinguish it from areas known “back slopes” or "back-country" – a distinction often important as many Australians are inexperienced skiers and encouraged to keep to the front slopes/front valley. |
