If a batch cannot be brought within specifications and QC issues a sub-standard product report, the following procedures are to be used:
· If material is immediately sent to “disposal staging area,” it must be written-off, and the loss assigned to one of the responsibilities listed below:
Production: Account 5783
Sales: Account 6987
Technical: Account 3309
· Materials packaged for later rework are to be valued at 50% of bulk material cost and carried on the file as stock items. These items reside as Recoverable Assets. Subsequent time limitations on disposition are the same as apply for raw materials with a value greater than $1,000 (must be written off if not used within nine [9] months of work-off date). |
