The Social Fuel Seal consists of a certification to producers of biodiesel and projects of production which satisfy the criteria aimed at integrating family farmers in the productive chain of biodiesel.

Within the criteria required for granting the Social Fuel Seal, the producer of biodiesel shall comply with the minimum percentages of acquiring raw materials of family farmers, which vary according to the region where these farmers are located.
The producer of biodiesel shall also sign contracts with family farmers, attending to the minimum terms, such as a guarantee of purchase, criteria of price readjustment and delivery terms. The negotiation of these contracts will have the intervening of unions or entities representing the family farmers. Besides this, the producer shall ensure the technical capacitation and assistance of the family farmers, developed by its own employees or by third parties.
