What’s interesting to me is that we’ve got these wonderful traces of the **polychrome staining** and I think here you’ve got the green staining on the steps, all the way around the frieze on the cornice you’ve got the ivory which has faded a little bit but this was painted on the ivory itself to simulate gelate igrata – very elaborate type of jasper – and you’ve got all sorts of other marbles that were originally put there, and the inside, as one would expect.
