circassian Explanation: I don't know if your question was about the meaning of the word, or about how to translate it in Polish. Anyway, Circassians have blue eyes... The Circassians, also known as Cherckess, originate from North Caucasia and have their own language, Circassian. They abandonned Christianity for Islam in the 17th century. Following the integration of the region in Russia in 1929, many Circassians fled in the Turkish Empire and settled in the Middle East, particularly in what became later Jordan and Israel (where they have their own nationality). In Jordan, they live today mostly around Amman and Jerash. |
