By implementing activity-based compensation business rules, the quota crediting process becomes much less subjective and more quantitative. Once sales managers clearly define and communicate business rules, territories, and responsibilities, it becomes clear to everyone what their credit allocation will be for a particular sales situation.

Crediting - The process in which you determine which participant receives credit for the sales event and how much will count. For companies with complex selling processes it is best practice to credit multiple positions to encourage team work and avoid channel conflict.
