Work Description

• Get empty roll containers into the workplace for laundry soil sorting.
• Set the empty roll containers around the soil sorting table.
• Sort the garments in the driving date and route order. Sort all garments of the same customer at one time.
• Get one laundry roll container at a time to the sorting point.
• Place the roll container as close as possible to the soil sorting table and open it.
• Detach the address label from the laundry bag and find the customer-specific soil sorting list. Collect the detached address labels into the boxes under the soil sorting table. There is a separate box for each day of the week.
• Open the laundry bag in the roll container and take a couple of garments at a time out of the laundry bag onto the soil sorting table (photo WWS_1a). If there are only a few garments in the laundry bag, you can empty the entire laundry bag contents onto the soil sorting table.
• Check the garments on the soil sorting table.

Soil Sorting
Soil sortingAt this stage, the retrieved linen is unloaded and sorted according to item type. Different items often require different washing formulas. Also, later stages in the process require the linen to be pre-sorted, since it is handled batch by batch. Heavy or biohazardous stains such as blood and feces may require longer wash times and stronger formulas. Thus it is inadvisable to mix different items of linen in the same wash batch. Large institutions often use a production-line method for soil sorting, with several full-time employees assigned to the task.
