A Curators’ Professorship is the highest and most prestigious academic rank awarded by the Board of Curators of the University of Missouri. It is awarded to a select few “outstanding scholars with established reputations.” Each Curators’ Professor becomes a “resource of the entire University and should be expected to contribute to the entire University through such activities as giving lectures on other campuses and engaging in teaching and research across divisional lines.” Appointment to a Curator’s Professorship brings a substantial increase in salary and research support. As of Fall 2005, appointments are for five-years, renewable at the discretion of the Chancellor Profesor emeritus (skrót, prof. em., z łac., l. mn. profesorzy emeriti) - profesor emerytowany, zwykle przed przejściem na emeryturę zajmujący stanowisko profesora zwyczajnego, najczęściej nadal pracujący na swojej macierzystej uczelni jako honorowy profesor pomocniczy, który prowadzi głównie seminaria magisterskie i doktorskie, rzadziej regularne wykłady dla studentów |
