Lewą ręką wymachiwał coraz bliżej węża, aż ten wykonał skok równolegle do gruntu, z rozwartą paszczą i skierowanymi w dół zębami jadowymi. Różowe wnętrze jego jamy ustnej było duże jak ludzka dłoń. Na szczęście atak chybił.
