Inceptisols – gleby słabe, wykazują minimalny rozwój poziomu genetycznego. Gleby Inceptisols, występują przede wszystkim w górach lub na młodych geomorfologicznych powierzchniach. Występują płatowo w kontynentalnej części Stanów Zjednoczonych oraz na Alasce, Hawajach i Portoryko, zajmują 9,7% powierzchni.
