English to Polish translations [PRO]
Medical - History / medycyna starożytna
English term or phrase: iatromancy
termin występuje zarówno w odniesieniu do starożytnej grecji jak i do starożytnych Chin. Podaję trzy różne konteksty:

It is with respect to this religious/mystical context that recent generations of scholars such as Alexander P. Mourelatos, Charles H. Kahn, and the controversial Peter Kingsley have begun to call parts of the traditional, rational logical/philosophical interpretation of Parmenides into question (Kingsley in particular stating that Parmenides practiced iatromancy)

Presumably turtle and milfoil divination were the chief methods of iatromancy avaiable to Shao Tuo. [...] It is interesting that iatromancy in the almanacs also bypasses medical treatment: illness follows a predicted course with or without medical intervention.

David Harper's chapter (chapter 3) makes a strong case that the correlative cosmology that dominated Han elite medicine had early precursors in iatromancy (the art of predicting medical events).

Dziękuję, nie znalazłem co prawda żadnego odniesienia do słowa "jatromancja" w jakochkolwiek współczesnych tekstach, ale jest to chyba najzgrabniejsze tłumaczenie.

znachorstwo

Explanation:
ewentualnie: "szamaństwo". Dosłownie "iatromantis" to "lekarz wróżbita", czyli raczej znachor. Wiem, że znachorstwo może być używane w odniesieniu do starożytnych Chin.
