Law/Patents - History / English law, parliamentary records, 14th century | | English term or phrase: plea / plea rolls | Only 'now and again' are these rolls entitled plea rolls, and at best we have but 'a meagre, disjointed plea rolls, for they deal also with petitions and other matters.
Then comes a petition presented by the city authorities of London, which is followed by a plea of the crown in Latin (as pleas should be).
