Polangmar: Nie rozumiem - jak "wkrótce" mogło się wziąć z "come up"? Owszem, często takie tłumaczenie jest możliwe, ale nie zawsze.:)

Explanation:
Jeśli dobrze rozumiem, pytasz o pochodzenie tego wyrażenia, czyli o obraz, który się za nim kryje. Otóż moim zdaniem jest to obraz wschodzącego słońca, które, jak wiemy, wschodząc wznosi się do góry. Obserwując z zapartym tchem różowiejące niebo tuż przed wschodem, wczesnowstawacz lub też późnospacz mógłby wykrzyknąć: "Oh, it's coming up!" - czyli jeszcze nie widać słońca, ale już za chwilę będzie można je zobaczyć i pójść spać.

Z góry zaznaczam, że jest to tylko jedna z możliwych teorii.

Można też inaczej: gdy coś się wznosi, to staje się bardziej widoczne, czego dowody odnajdujemy, między innymi, w polityce - "za chwilę znajdę się na szczycie i wtedy wszyscy zobaczycie".

A tak w ogóle, to nie wydaje mi się, żeby Asker pytał o polskie tłumaczenie zwrotu "coming up", bo przecież sam je podał. Pytanie było zadane jasno i wyraźnie: "skąd to się wzięło?"
