English to Polish translations [PRO]
Art/Literary - Idioms / Maxims / Sayings | | English term or phrase: to charm the skin off a snake | The phrase is from Erica's Spindler book "Dead Run." I am translating a short fragment as my homework.
"And last but certainly not least, a bartender who could charm the skin off a snake. The ability to do just that came as naturally to Rick Wells as breathing. It was an ability, a gift, really, that Rick depended on but didn't pride himself in."
Any suggestions how to translate the idiom? I haven't found any equivalent in Polish, so we might find a similar one ? what do you think? |

wąż jest w kulturze ang. jęz. zwykle symbolem sprytu i przebiegłości, tak jak u nas lis; animalistyczne odniesienie pozostaje zachowane, nie wiem tylko, co na to kontekst ;-)

jeszcze tak myślę, że "bartender"... wtedy to "rzucanie uroku" nie jest bez znaczenia;
użyłabym słowa: zbajerować

| Grading comment dzięki! odczytałam tę propozycję dopiero dziś, a pracę oddałam w weekend.. (napisałam 'umiał oczarować każdego. Potrafiłby nawet zaczarować węża" ale myslę, że "nawet lisa by przechytrzył" jest lepsze.
