English to Polish translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Idioms / Maxims / Sayings | | English term or phrase: as silver linings go that's pewter | Pewien pan miał alergię na brzoskwinie. Po jego śmierci żona mówi:
'Now I can buy all the peaches I want, but as silver linings go that's pewter.'
Nie chciałabym tego za bardzo spłaszczyć. "Every cloud has a silver lining" nie ma chyba obrazowego odpowiednika po polsku. Przychodzi mi do głowy tylko "to marna pociecha", ale może ktoś będzie miał ciekawszy pomysł. |
