A salvaged vehicle is one that is so wrecked and impaired that the insurance company considers it to be too expensive to repair. A salvaged vehicle may also have its damaged parts replaced by poor or inferior quality spare parts. A vehicle maybe deemed salvage when it’s repairing costs more 75% of its price. Sometimes these vehicles aren’t allowed to be driven on roads; this makes their resale price very low.

Vehicles that are certified salvaged must undergo inspection by a noted inspector. After these vehicles are repaired, they must undergo some tests. For the salvaged vehicles inspections you must get the completely filled application for the vehicle, its current status, a report from the insurance company and receipts of all the major parts of the vehicle replaced. The inspection fees should be paid which maybe up to 100$.

If after the inspection, a vehicle is declared non-repairable, it cannot be registered anywhere else. This means that the vehicle is degraded to an extent that it cannot be repaired but can only be dismantled for its parts. The inspector first checks your documents and other ownership papers. If they are in place and the vehicle is fit to be driven on roads, then the inspector stamps your salvage certificate.
