W umowie licencyjnej dotyczącej wykorzystania muzyki w filmie:

The fee payable to X for Y's rights to exploit the Works, is $$$$$ (the “Fee”) which is payable as to 50% for the master use synch license and 50% for the publishing synch license.

O ile się zorientowałam, "master use" to prawo do korzystania z oryginalnego nagrania, a publishing - to chyba prawo do korzystania z samego utworu, tzn muzyki i słów. Jeżeli dobrze rozumiem, w tym drugim przypadku można tę piosenkę samemu nagrać, ale nie ma się prawa do oryginalnej wersji.
Zupełnie nie wiem, jak to funkcjonuje po polsku.
