Tylko część odpowiedzi :-) Explanation: Być może pracował w Proctor & Gamble i był profesorem z jakims wyróżnieniem Na alt.usage.english znalazłam: "In general, the highest professorial rank at an American university is "(full) professor." The two lower ranks are "associate professor" and "assistant professor." Lower than all ranks of professors are "instructors," who generally do not have tenure. Someone who is a "distinguished professor" has the rank of "(full) professor," but has been granted a distinction as a reward. I believe that U.S. "(full) professor" and U.K. "professor" are roughly equivalent. U.K. readers and lecturers would find their U.S. counterparts among instructors, assistant professors, and associate professors. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2002-05-29 06:47:59 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Jeśli w takim kntkście, jak podałaś, to najwyraźniej otrzymał nagrodę od P&G. Czyli profesor wyróżniony przez P&G -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2002-05-29 06:50:15 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Tak jak \"Robert Klitgaard, Ford Distinguished Professor of International Development and Security and Dean, RAND Graduate School\" |

stanowisko profesury ufundowane przez Procter & Gamble Explanation: Na amerykanskich uniwersytetach jest to coraz czestsze. So tez na przyklad tzw. Endowed Chairs, z nazwiskiem przed tym. Nazwisko nie jest kierownika (Chair) natomiast jest to nazwisko osoby dotujacej. Mamy wiec the Endowed Woodward Chair, Joseph Smith. |
