[0006] Referring to FIG. 3, there is illustrated a typical write sequence for a ferroelectric memory cell as in FIG. 1. Initially, the bitline (BL), wordline (WL), and plateline (PL) are all low. The upper row of hysteresis curves illustrates a write "1" and the lower row represents a write "0". Either a "1" or "0" is initially stored in each exemplary memory cell. The write "1" is performed when the bitline BL and wordline WL are high and the plateline PL is low.
