We tested the GLOBE hypothesis regarding the effect of societal culture on organizational culture by conducting HLM analyses in which organizational Assertiveness was predicted by societal Assertiveness. These analyses did not support our hypotheses that societal Assertiveness practices have a significant and strong positive relationship with organizational Assertiveness practices. However we found a significant relationship between societal Assertiveness values and organizational Assertiveness values.
