The time spent collecting data for each rate calculation, or update. Generally, the lower the hopper's desired rate, the higher this number should be (See “Optimizing Blender Performance” on page 7-7). The hopper updates after the ‘time between updates' has passed, regardless of how many weigh units (bits) it has seen. This enables update cycles to be lengthened for hoppers which should reasonably require more time to get good data, and enables short update times (as low as 6 seconds) for hoppers which lose weight more rapidly.
