Explanation:
Po holendersku "averij" to "uszkodzenie". W tekście musiało dojść do jakiegoś przekłamania i z "averij" zrobiło się angielskie "average".

Słowa "spoilage" i "damaged" pojawiają się też w ostatnim akapicie punktu 7.1: http://content.belgroup.nl/documents/downloads/Inkoopvoorwaa... (to zapewne ten sam dokument: http://tinyurl.com/65545cq ).

Dodatkowo, fraza "partial damage and/or loss" pojawia się też w sieci.

Dzięki. Podziwiam erudycję oraz przenikliwość, chociaż słownik Webstera podaje jako francuski źródłosłów również znaczenie tego słowa jako 'uszkodzenie' lub 'awaria'. Potem dowiedziałem się także, że termin jest już standardem w języku kontraktów.
