Desculpem o atraso de um ano e meio, mas acabo de ver este verbete.
Discordo com as respostas dadas. A expressão "in kind" em inglês é um "amigo falso", porque é usada como o contrário de "in cash", ou seja, significa especificamente NÃO em espécie. A contribuição poderia ser dada na forma de trabalho, de livros, de ações, de galinhas...
Às vezes, "cash" pode ter um significado mais abrangente, incluindo valores facilmente transformáveis em dinheiro (p. ex., cheques, ações) ou até bens e serviços com um valor específico; nesse caso, "in kind" se usa para coisas menos facilmente quantificáveis.
