A special language has developed within the accounting research community. We call it "research-speak". It is a private and specialised vocabulary.
Those who ignore it are exposed by its inventors as uninitiated and unworthy of cult membership. By its use the ‘‘ true’’ researchers, the true believers, are taken to reveal themselves as worthy of entry to the research community, somewhat like the members of a secret society.

Reparem o tom irônico e depreciativo do termo. Pensei em algo como "pesquisês", mas não sei se é apropriado.
