English to Portuguese translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Accounting / Operations
English term or phrase: Difference between "operating" and "operational"
When I refer to Operational System or Operating system. What is the difference? If I say Operational Entry made to a book or OPerating entry? Could anyone help me?

Thank you
Raquel Horacio

operating
Explanation:
Raquel, in accounting, use "operating entries" rather than "operational entries." Operational has a different connotation. A machine is operational. In accounting, we say operating revenues, operating income, operating expenditures, sometimes "income from operations," etc. This is my recommendation.

Thank you Jack. I think what got me confused was the fact that the text refers to IT nd Accounting operating entries made into a operational system, something like that.
