Em primeiro lugar, para que se tenha uma boa tradução, é preciso agregar " that prefer a", do texto original, se não o sentido original se perde. Talvez tenha sido este o problema com tantas tentativas acima que, se chegaram perto, não conseguiram traduzir completamente.

É certo que a "tradução" literal do termo (já corrigido) seria "que preferem mordidas pequenas", mas é imediatamente claro que o idiomático "bite" não corresponde a "mordida", mas a "pedaço" ou "porção". Como este último termo tende a indicar o "prato" (cumbuca, no caso canino?), "pedaço" acaba sendo a melhor escolha.

Pelo menos é o que diz a propaganda da ração aí embaixo, em que pese a inversão na ordem adjetivo-substantivo. Já no saco da ração propriamente dito consta "pedacinhos pequenos", se preferir, e aí se aproxima da sugestão do Nick Taylor.
