cut-away 1.5 inches from the bottom to break suction before the drum is completely
emptied.
Bonding wire to be clipped to the aircraft to be fuelled and the other end fastened to the
drum.
The overwing nozzle should be touched against the aircraft wing to equalise electrical
potential and bonded by a short bonding wire between nozzle and fuelling point before
the fill cap is removed..
Delivery into aircraft should be made through either portable pumping equipment, which
is approved to pump dangerous Goods or a suitable hand pump fitted with a suitable filter
monitor. A meter is optional.
After into-plane refuelling a 'visual' check for the presence of dirt and water should be
made on a sample from the overwing nozzle. A Shell Water Detector test should be
conducted on the sample in the case of Jet A-1; Shell Water Finding Paper should be used
in the case of Avgas.
Empty and partially full drums should be re-bunged and rolled away from the aircraft.
