English term or phrase: ridge-tops
A ridge-till cultivator is used to make ridges during the final cultivation of the crop. During spring planting, the tops of the ridges are knocked into the furrows. This reduces soil erosion by leaving the plant residue from last year's harvest on the soil surface and serves to decrease weed pressure by sweeping weed seeds away from the row. Immediately after the ridge-tops are cut, crop seeds are sown into the top of what remains of the ridge. Once the crop is about 12 inches high, a special cultivator is used to rebuild ridges and kills weeds in the process. Ridge-till can be very effective in all but sandy soils

Leira é um sulco feito na terra arada com um tipo especial de ferramenta acoplada ao arado; essa ferramenta, abre um sulco e ao mesmo tempo uma crista.
Você pode usar "crista da leira" como solução para sua sugestão.

Eu não conhecia o termo leiva; pelo menos no meio rural em que me criei ele não era usado.
Interessante a questão da datação dos termos:
leira = ano 870
leiva = ano 1624
