Asker: Também fiquei confusa, Marlene. O dicionário não ajudou, só confundiu mais, por isso perguntei para ver se havia alguém com conhecimento da expressão (que já tinha ouvido falar). Não se encontra muitos locais em que a mesma é usada e também não encontrei definições. Mas acho que, de acordo com o texto integral, faz mais sentido "ignorar".

disagree  Marlene Curtis: I don't usually rely much on dictionaries, but on research and experience (a phase I've been through a long time ago.). I think the expression is tricky, it can carry both meanigns, hence the question.
