"Os cursos seqüenciais são cursos de nível superior mas não têm o caracter de graduação. O que se busca ao definir-se um curso seqüencial é uma formação específica em um dado "campo do saber" e não em uma "íárea de conhecimento e suas habilitações". Por exemplo, na área de computação, pode-se ter um Curso Seqüencial em Redes de Computadores, onde o objetivo é claro e pode ser atingido em um prazo relativamente curto.
