Nivel avançado suplementar
Explanation:
Em 2000 foram feitas mudanças no sistema educacional britânico. O primeiro ano do curso de nível secundário avançado de dois anos de duração (A Level) passou a ser chamado de "advanced subsidiary level"

The first stage of the Advanced Level (A level) curriculum, introduced in 2000, following a recommendation in the Dearing Review (1996) that the existing Advanced Supplementary Level (AS level), which covered about half a full A level syllabus and was assessed against the same criteria, should be retitled Advanced Subsidiary Level, and should be assessed at a lower level which reflected the shorter length of study. Candidates are expected to select four or five subjects, which are assessed after a year. From these they will choose the subjects (usually two or three) with which they will continue to A2 level. See also Curriculum 2000.
