Education / Pedagogy
English term or phrase: GCE
Trata-se do General Certificate of Education.

O and A levels

Explanation:
Until the 1980s, GCE O levels (ordinary) were taken at age 16 - the final year of compulsory education. A Levels (advanced) followed at age 18 by those who opted to stay on at school for a further two years. In the mid 80s, the O Level system was replaced by GCSEs (General Certificate of Secondary Education). Generally speaking, students study for between 5 and 10 subjects at O level and GCSE, and between 2 and 5 in consideably more depth at A Level. Traditionally, 3 A level passes are required for University entry. More if required.
