Só por curiosidade, procurei por 'eletroerosão'; a máquina é esta aqui:

Na realidade, o fio não corta, mas sim é aquecido até ficar incandescente e ionizar o ar à sua volta, quando então a máquina aplica uma corrente de alta intensidade através dos gases ionizados em volta do fio, que é o que realmente corta a peça. |
