The first thing that crossed my mind upon reading your posting was that the word "Garantia" would sound like the translation to "Warranty", hence my suggestion to use "Asseguramento" to avoid any possible misunderstandings. I am happy it fits into your context.
I understand your point of view, Flávio, and since you have your area, so does the client. What am I supposed to tell him? That because of this word, Camões is going round and round in his grave? Tell me. I do not trust websites either, but I do trust my client on a word he says it is the one. Like you may know what suits your translation better, because you know this is the term used in your TI area, I believe so does my client, right?

Por falar em abonação, há que se tomar cuidado com os URLs de empresas em geral. Eu só aceito abonações que eu tenha certeza de que sabem o que estão falando, a exemplo de universidades como USP, UNICAMP e as federais.
Hello! =) What do you call mistake, Flávio? The client who sent me the translation said this is the term he wanted, because this is the term it has been used. There is not much we can do when we do not agree with something. It is there, it exists, it is problably a neologism..and this is what the client wanted. Asseguramento. Please, check the link sent by Marlene Curtis, and others on the term Asseguramento: http://www.iaction-plexus.com.br/treinamentos.asp?sub_secao=... I believe there is no discussion here. Furthermore, it is not us who decide to use Pretty if the client wants Beautiful, correct? Thank you!

Asker: Sorry, but this is not correct. Garantia is understood here as warranty, and this is not what I need. But thank you anyways.
