Poderia escolher entre a resposta do Jack e da Teresa, mas não vi porque não usar o verbo 'take' em sua tradução literal, pois é usada em questões de guerra e conquista.

agree jack_speak: Andrea, I just saw your answer--I think you're right. Aurelio says that tomar (sometimes) = capturar/conquistar. Tomar could be a good literal translation.
