De fato deveria ser "controles com maior detalhe". Lametavelmente a informática em português está tão dominada por "traduções" literais de termos que poderiam perfeitamente ter um equivalente decente em português, que aquelas "traduções" acabam sendo o padrão.

On the other side of the coin, it can mean a computer that is put together with parts and pieces and is held together by rubber bands. The term used this way is derogatory.
