Prezado colega: se você entrar no google images com "pan rail" vai entender tudo rapidamente. "Pan" é o carter, a "panela" que recebe armazena o oleo de motor. O "rail' nao é exatamente a junta, (que seria pan rail seal, ou joint) ela é a parte plana do contorno do carter, por onde ele é fixado contra o bloco do motor (entre pan rail e bloco, obviamente vai a junta).
