Segundo a minha interpretação, "underground" será o que há de mais profundo em nós, o nosso íntimo, daí que o autor da frase tenha colocado em parênteses (consciente e subconsciente), por forma a fazer entender que não devemos trabalhar só o consciente, mas também o nosso subconsciente, ou seja:
Se trabalhar em certa medida o seu íntimo (underground) e o seu consciente (mind) será óptimo.
É a minha interpretação da frase e sugestão.
