English term or phrase: Bracket Top/ Bracket Bottom

Bracketing is the act of taking a series of shots while varying exposure, flash level, white balance, or another variable by a set amount above or below the current value, “bracketing” the current setting, but what can "bracket top" and "bracket bottom" mean? Any ideas?

bracket top/ bracket bottom valor de exposição maior/valor de exposição menor

Explanation:
When using the bracketing option, the camera normally takes three photos and the most common value to vary is the exposure, so perhaps the terms are referring to the underexposed and overexposed photos.
However I never used those terms so not sure.
