I just wanted to comment on the previous answers, which are both correct, but I think it's important that translators mention if they are translating to Iberian Portuguese or Brazilian Portuguese!

Also, it's important to explain the difference between:

"Amo-te" and "Adoro-te"

We only say "Amo-te" if there's romantic love. "Adoro-te" can be said to a friend.
