English term or phrase: fall of matter
"This constituted a new way of looking at the heavens, in which the movements of the planets were no longer regarded in terms of the ancient notion of an essential difference between heavenly matter and earthly matter. Rather, one con¬sidered these movements in terms of different rates of fall of matter, heavenly and earthly, toward various centers."

Uma parte mais densa da nuvem molecular colapsa gravitacionalmente, destacando-se da nuvem. A conservação do momento angular lhe dará a forma de um disco em rotação;
