If you have trouble getting enough low bass without the sound becoming boomy, it probably means the Crossover Frequency is set too high.

Boomy é o som que você escuta nos carros por aí, aquele bum-bum-bum. No caso de caixas acústicas, o som não pode ser "boomy".

Explanation:
Quando um toque na pele de bateria não é límpido e emite um som mais grave e sujo, chama-se som ressoante porque ressoa dentro do próprio instrumento.
Penso que em caixas acústica seja o mesmo.
