intoarcere incrucisata Explanation: Is one possible translation. It is a converstion between Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis in Top Gun, The first line is McGillis as a pilot instructor telling Cruise how to handle the aerial manuever. Cruise counters with his version of what he should do " If I reversed on a hard cross, I could go to guns on him. He is explaining that if he performs the manuever called the Hard Cross he could come up behind the enemy plane and use his machine guns instead of being far behind and using a missle. In any case it is a metaphor or slang term used by fighter pilots to describe an aerial manuever. It is a term that will not easily translate, if at all. It is really a " very hard application of the brakes and turning almost sideways, ie a Hard Cross. |
